Saturday 22nd August 2020
This is the statement we didn’t want to make; it is with regret that we must announce the decision to cancel the running of this year’s Vale of Clwyd Classic, due to the ongoing uncertainties surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have reviewed the whole of the event and our main concerns lie with the health of the residents on route, PR crews, venue staff, competitors, marshals and officials. The current high levels of Covid cases in North Wales, along with guidelines from Motorsport UK and the Welsh Senedd are all factors that we have taken into consideration.
Stay safe everyone and who knows what next year will bring.

A selection of competitors comments from recent events:
• 10 hours of amazing fun, adrenaline, stress, beautiful roads, tracks and countryside.
I think the crew of Apollo 13 had more control of their situation, than we did, for
most of the time.
• Probably the best round of the HRCR championship in my opinion, amazing route,
amazing tests and amazing organisation!..
• 13 tests and 7 regularities made it a full day and up there among the best HRCR
events I have done...
• Thank you to all the marshals - happy and chatty and enjoying the day. Superb
event and have set such a high standard...
• The organisers' attention to detail was exemplary, and the marshalling "spot
on"...
• A great team of marshals, a great collection of fellow competitors and the spectating
public along the route...
